Prayer (n.) Tee

A tragedy happens. The statements go out within the hour: thoughts and prayers. The laws, the funding and the fixes never seem to follow.

When the people with real power swap action for a press release, that's not comfort. It's a dodge with a halo.

PRAYER (N.): DOING NOTHING WHILE FEELING LIKE YOU DID SOMETHING. A dictionary entry for every politician and pulpit that offered thoughts instead of help.
